Nidhivan temple

Nidhivan is one of the most prominent and well known temples which are located in Vrindavan. It is also known as Madhuvan (van means forest). The beautiful and devotional aura of this sacred place cannot let you untouched by the mystery of Nidhivan. This place is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Shri Radha Rani. This holy shrine is surrounded by busy forests. You can see twisted tress here which indicates the story of Lord Krishna and Shri Radha Rani. It is believed that there was a great saint and devotee of Lord Krishna, Swami Haridas. He had strong spiritual desires. By seeing the devotion of Haridas, Banke Bihari (Lord Krishna) appeared in front of him. The place where lord Banke Bihari appeared is called as Praktya Sathal.

It is a spiritually blessed temple where natural overflow of devotion and forfeit flows every time. Everyday, this sacred place witnesses ore than thousands of pilgrims. The devotees are not allowed to enter the temple after the process of evening Aarti.

People have heard the many mysterious stories about this temple. A very mystifying conception is connected with this significant temple. After the blessed process of Aarti of Lord Krishna and Sh. Radha Rani ji, priests close this temple and temple is also checked by the priests because it is believed that after Aarti, no one can stay in the side-line of this temple, not even any animal. In case, if anyone remain there during night in the scope of the temple, either he / she becomes dumb, deaf, blind, lame or dies. He/she will never be able to disclose the spiritual secret of the lord Radha-Krishna. It is said that the Pujari (priests) puts two toothbrushes, some blessed water in a jug with four sweets (LADDOO) and prepares bed after evening Aarti, but in the morning everything can be seen as if somebody has used it because everything which set at night , found here and there. It proves that Lord Radha-Krishna who are known as PRIYA-PRIYATAM, they appear at night to present their divine activities (so called Lilas). It is believed that Shri Radha Ji and Lord Krishna ji visit here every night. The nij mandir is ornamented for them and all necessary items placed here for the night. This small mandir is adorned with all leelas painted on the walls which are very pretty. This leela is imprinted in paintings which show Shree Krishna combing to Radharani’s hair and helping her to get ready for the Raas Leela. People from all over the world visit Nidhivan to get the blessings of Lord Krishna. You can see devotees here talking to twisted trees (which are considered as Gopiyan). You can find a huge crowd in this holy shrine throughout the year.
