Shri Naina Devi Ji Temple is a popular holy shrine of Hindus. This well-known North Indian Temple is among the 51 Shakti Peeths in India which was built by a Gujjar Shepherd. Shri Naina Devi Ji temple is located in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. This holy shrine is situated on the top of the hill. We can reach this temple via road but only up to a certain point because after that we have to use concrete steps. Cable-car facility is also available there for pilgrims. Temple of Shri Naina Devi Ji has been created with marble which gives a fabulous look to the temple. Doors of this temple are overlaid by silver and also have carvings of deities on them. Statues of lions are also present at the main entrance. Shri Naina Devi Ji is present in the form of Pindi in this holy shrine. Near the main entrance, a cave of Shri Naina Devi Ji is there which is 70 feet long. Many people from all over the world visit Shri Naina Devi Ji temple throughout the year.

There are several stories related to this holy shrine. The story of Gujjar boy is quite famous among the devotees. Gujjar boy named Naina was a Shepherd. Once, Naina was grazing his cattle in a grazing field. That day, he noticed that a white cow was showering milk on a stone. He decided to notice it every day. He was stunned by seeing the same thing daily. One night, he got a dream of Goddess. Goddess told him that the stone on which cow was showering milk is a pindi. Naina was overwhelmed by seeing the Goddess in his dream. He went to Raja Bir Chand and told him his entire dream and the situation he was noticing for several days. Raja also went with him to see the reality. He also got stunned by the miracle of Goddess. Then, Raja Bir Chand made a temple on that particular spot and also named it after the name of Naina.

Mahishapeeth is another name of Shri Naina Devi Temple. People offer their prayers in this temple by also doing Yagna. It is believed that Shri Naina Devi Ji blesses her devotees with her heartiest blessings. Sikh in a very large number come to seek the blessings from Shri Naina Devi Ji. It is said that Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji also visited the temple of Shri Naina Devi Ji in 1756 when he was leaving his military campaign against Mughals. Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji also performed a Yagna in the temple to get the blessings from Goddess. Shri Naina Devi Ji blessed him and he got the win over Mughals. By this incident, Shri Naina Devi Ji showed that she never leaves her devotees alone. One must visit this holy shrine to feel the devotion and to get the blessings from Goddess.
